I was an editor for my high school newspaper, The Trident, for a year as well as page editor from freshman year until graduation in 2005. I have tutored both English, Spanish, and basic math to elementary school kids for two years on and off while in college and continue to help friends and family with college and grad school personal statements. I want to be a tutor because I truly enjoy writing and the English language. I love writing personal statements and helping people find what is most important about themselves to highlight in college essays and statements.

I am a recent college graduate and I am a creative and friendly person. I have always been a fan of music and the arts. I am currently volunteering my time and energy at The Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) where I work in the oncology playroom, the teen and preteen playrooms, and the gift shop. I'm outgoing and personable and because I'm living back in the town where I went to high school and grew up, I feel very connected to the people who live here. While I understand the importance of the last years of high school and college to students, I also know how important it is to buckle down and get things done. I will strive to do my best to help my tutees with their work while still allowing them the time to work on their essays and find what's most important to them to highlight in their essays. The key to excellent writing is to focus on what you are passionate about.
